In the regional cooperation framework, VSD’s delegation, headed by Mr. Duong Ngoc Tuan – Senior Managing Director attended the 15th ACG Meeting in Seoul, Korean from November 2 through 4, 2011.
In this Meeting, there were not only the members of ACG, but also included the representatives of CSDs/ CCPs of America, Euro, East Europe such as DTCC, Clearstream, Euroclear, Micex Group and other international famous financial institutions such as HSBC, City group and Thomas Murray.
The critical discussion issues of this Meeting forced on the challenges of global financial crisis to infrastructure of post- trade services including the change in regulation and IT framework; the cooperation and competition among CSDs, CCPs to establish ICSD; the development of new post-trade services, especially derivative, SBL, Buy-in, cross-border. In addition, in this Meeting, the representatives of CSDs, CCPs in ACG also evaluated the activities of ACG in 2011 and discussed the ACG activity Plan 2012-2013 by the presentations of Task- Force groups in ACG including Exchange of Information Task Force, New Business Initiative Task Force, Technical Task Force and Legal Task Force.
As the member of ACG Executive Committee and Task – Force groups, in the meeting, representatives of VSD discussed and shared the information and experiences of Vietnam in the changes of legal framework and other infrastructures to improve the quality of the post-trade service and adapt the negative impacts of Global Financial Crisis on financial market, as well as the abilities of VSD in developing the derivative, SBL and Cross-border with other representatives who came from CSDS, CCPs, Banking Groups and other financial Institutions. VSD’s delegates also actively discussed the ACG activity Plan 2012-2013 with other members in ACG.
This General Meeting was a valuable chance for members of ACG to share information and experiences, exchange the achievements and discuss the development trends in the future with CSDs of other regions and financial institutions. The 16th ACG General Meeting will be organized in Indonesia.
