Issuing ISIN

Vietnam Securities Depository (VSD) shall allocate and manage local securities code for all securities registered at VSD. Local securities codes are used as transaction codes of issuers when they register to be listed/traded on stock exchanges. Besides, VSD is also designated to be the unique and official agency of Vietnam allocating International Securities Identification Numbers (ISIN) for all securities in Vietnam Securities Market.

Local securities codes and ISINs are simultaneously allocated with issuance of securities registration certificates when issuers register their securities at VSD.

Public companies may register to reserve their local securities codes during the preparation of registration applications. The time for local code reservation is 6 months since the date VSD accepts issuers’ registration for local code reservation. After this period, if the public companies fail to register their securities with VSD, VSD shall automatically cancel the reserved codes to allocate for other public companies. Each public company is entitled to local code reservation one time.

All information on local securities codes and ISINs and reserved securities codes, after allocation, shall be made public on VSD’s website for reference purposes of related parties. Processes and procedures of allocating secuirity code are stipulated in the Guideline on Allocating Local Security Codes and International Securites Identification Numbers at VSD promulgated with Decision No. 25 /QD-VSD dated 22 April 2010 by Chief Executive Officer of VSD.
